"My Past Affected The State Of My Teeth, Dr. Mann Restored My Smile"
My teeth were in very poor condition, and they were causing me illness to the point where if I didn’t do something about it, then I was going to probably start having worse problems than just bad teeth. I was abusing drugs. To tell you the truth, I was a crack monster for 25, 30 years. It takes its toll, cocaine, whatever, all drugs take their toll. They’re not good for you. It took me a long time to figure out it’s time to stop. Hence, when I was 55, I gave it up. After that, I started figuring out then, I got to straighten up the rest of my life so that I can’t walk around, hiding my face all the time because I had terrible looking teeth. I need to get it fixed.
I'm feeling at this point like I've gotten the old, original me back. I could be who I am and not have to worry about what people think because I've had to deal with that for so many years, people's opinions and pointing a finger, and this and that.
Richard:
My doctor, [inaudible], said, “If you don’t get these teeth fixed, you’re going to get some blood infection, and it’s going to go to your heart, and it could kill you.” That’s just why what brought me here. I thought, “Well, this is where we started.” We moved here in ’67. Rollings Dental Group was where we came. Since, I figured, “What the heck. Let’s give it a try.” I’ve been to other places and got other quotes, and they were good out of my ballpark. Dr. Mann did an extremely nice job and helped me so much, it’s just unbelievable.
Richard:
Coming through the door the first time, I was a little concerned because I was embarrassed about my mouth and how it looked and how much of a job it was going to be and how uncomfortable that would make the doctor feel, looking at it and having to deal with it. Totally, she looked at it and the girls looked at it, and they were comfortable. “Oh, don’t worry. We’ve seen everything in this world when it comes to dental. This is not bad at all.” She says, “Rest assured, we’ll get you taken care of,” and they did. They made me feel comfortable by not saying to me, “Oh, my God. That looks awful.” It’s amazing how comfortable I felt, coming in.
I’m feeling at this point like I’ve gotten the old, original me back. I could be who I am and not have to worry about what people think because I’ve had to deal with that for so many years, people’s opinions and pointing a finger, and this and that. Fortunately, my loved ones forgave me for the mistakes I’ve made, and we’ve all gotten beyond that. Kari and the crew, they made me feel like family.
